Spc. Ramon Mata Jr. was born in Falfurrias, Texas and raised in Premont, Texas. He was born on December 14, 1982 and died on December 25, 2004. Ramon liked to  spend time with his family and friends ... he was a family man, he always enjoyed going on trips to where ever the car went. Ramon really enjoyed being a GI-Joe, he always talked about how he was going to be in the ARMY for 20 yrs and then he'd change his mind and say he was gonna get out and be a janitor. Ramon servered 13 months in Iraq with the 642nd Engineers based out of Fort Drum, New York.

Ramon passed away on Christmas Day 2004 from a tragic automobile accident on his way home from California to New York. He was a passenger and asleep/reclined when the car went off road and rolled twice. He passed away in a town near Cheyenne, Wyoming.
